It is August and the summer holidays have started.
August is the time when we naturally start thinking of rest and relaxation as the rhythm of life slows down. This is usually the time when everything but the Sunday service including the daily office, weekly and monthly services at St Luke’s have a summer break. We have been wonderfully blessed with our online services throughout the pandemic that have helped us to stay connected as a community.
We are continuing our online presence throughout August with a shorter, simpler service based on a theme called ‘Connections’. Throughout August our Sunday 10am online service will explore how different people connect to God. Each service will include a reading, prayers, the Lord’s Prayer, a personal reflection of how or when we connect to God in a different way and finish with The Grace.
Everything you need for the Connections services through August is included in this booklet and will help us all to stay connected with each other and God wherever we may be this summer.

Sunday 9th August
- To hear the service by telephone: dial (01904) 215207. Within York and certain other local areas this is accessed from a landline at local call rates.
If you are passing the telephone number to non-internet users, please download, print and post or deliver the service sheet to them in time to arrive by Saturday morning; St Luke’s has already arranged this for a number of members.
Landline calls from outside the 01904 area, or from a mobile telephone, may be charged at a different rate, and so users should check the cost with their telephone provider before making the call. Services last approximately 40 minutes.
